What is NDA?

NDA is the short form of National Defence Academy which is a united services academy of the Indian Armed Forces. It is the location where trainees of the Indian Air Force, Indian Army, and Indian Navy receive training all together before they appear to pre-commissioning training in their related service academies. NDA is the 1st tri-service school in the world.

NDA candidates are chosen by carrying out a written examination, SSB and personal interview. This is held two times a year in the months of April as well as August.

What is the NDA examination and who is in charge of holding it?

For joining NDA, a candidate has to appear in the entrance examination carried out by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) which is referred to as the NDA exam. It is conducted two times a year. Who is eligible for the NDA exam?

It is basically unmarried male candidates who have completed their class 12 or those who shall appear for their class 12 examinations are eligible for this examination. They really need to be between 16.5 years and 19 years.

How many times can an individual apply for NDA?

What is the fee of the NDA Exam?

Mathematics and General ability are the 2 papers of the NDA examination.

The selection is based upon the Written Exam and SSB Interview. Each and every subject is allowed the time limit of 2 1/2 Hours, max marks for Mathematics is 300 & General ability is 600. Qualified candidates in the written exam will be called for Interviews carried out by SSB (Service Selection Board).

What type of training do the cadets undertake after they have completed the NDA?

After they have completed 3 years of preparation in NDA, Khadakwasla the candidates will spend:

– One year at Air Force Academy (for the Air Force cadets).

– One year at IMA (for the Army cadets).

– One year at Naval Academy (for the Navy cadets).

What are the minimum marks needed in class 12 to be allowed to apply for the NDA examination?
