NDA is one of the most respected academy that’s the key to any student who dream his career in the Indian armed forces. However, the entry to this prestigious academy comes with the cracking of an entrance examination, held every year by the UPSC.

The National Defence Academy (NDA) is the Country’s Premier training institution of Armed Forces (Army, Navy & Air force) .The NDA is located at Khadakwasla about 17 kilo metre away from Pune, Maharashtra. The idea of a National Defence Academy was perceived in 1945. The first Prime Minister of Indian, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation stone of NDA on 06 Oct 1949. It is the first institution in the world, to give combined training to the cadets of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force. The cadets join for three-year course at the NDA which is covered in six semesters, each semester normally takes 22 weeks. The three years spent by the cadets at NDA builds a better co-ordination between the three forces of the country. The NDA offers a full-time, residential undergraduate programme. After three years at the Academy a cadet is transformed from a shy and hesitant young boy into an honourable, physically and mentally competent potential officer who is well prepared to face any kind of adversity. After the successful completion of three year course cadets are awarded a Baccalaureate Degree (Bachelor of Science or Arts) From Jawahar Lal Nehru University. Thereafter, Army cadets join Indian Military Academy at Dehradun, Naval cadets join Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala, Kerala and Air Force cadets join the Air Force Academy at Hyderabad for one-year training. The cadets become commissioned officers after one year of training at their respective academies.
